1979年のアルバム Survival のタイトル曲です。このアルバムはアフリカ連合の創設を主旨として作られたものだそうです。アフリカ連合の前身であるアフリカ統一機構は、1963年、エチオピア皇帝ハイレ･セラシエ１世らの尽力によって発足しました。ボブ･マーリーの信じるラスタファリアニズムではハイレ･セラシエ１世を神の化身として信仰の対象とします。
